We had an amazing inauguration. Around 100 people came to Berlin two weeks ago to celebrate with us. The students of the faculty of architecture (TU Berlin / Prof. Donatella Fioretti) had set up everything in the container just in time, so we could start cooking. We had – of course – delicious food: Rice and a Syrian Lentil Soup. It was great to see, that everything looks so nice and that all our guests enjoyed the atmosphere.
Around one week later the Container was gripped on a truck, with the help of a crane. Its weight is about six tons now.
From Berlin our reliable and likeable driver Uwe carried the container all the way across the alps, passing Munich, Trento and Rimini. The big blue truck made it all the way south to Bari, where Italian spring is just starting now and cherry trees are blossoming. Also the team is now complete and only one last challenge is to take: How to fit the container into the Parco Don Tonino Bello.
We will start cooking on Friday. If you want to join, we are happy to see you from friday on. Check out how it works.
